The CAMS3 Unit is a camera module based on the ESP32S3 chipset, featuring an 8M PSRAM and 16M flash memory for image processing and storage capabilities. It includes a 2MP camera (OV2640) with a wide-angle field of view (DFOV 66.5°) capable of capturing images at resolutions up to 1600 x 1200. It also supports WiFi-enabled cloud image transmission, providing remote and flexible image monitoring.
This unit is equipped with a MicroSD card slot for easy storage and backup of images and data. It also includes a built-in PDM microphone that enables audio recording, upgrading its utility for comprehensive audio-visual recording. A programmable status indicator light is also present; a flashing blue light signals active data capturing and uploading.
It features a HY2.0-4P port at its base that brings out the S3’s internal D+/D- pins, providing firmware updates or USB serial communication when connected to the M5Grove2 USB-C module. The unit’s onboard 1.3 headers make accessing the ESP32S3's programming download port easier, streamlining firmware installation and other tasks.
The pre-installed firmware on the unit makes the setup easy for EZData, making it so you can easily configure and start remote image monitoring. This makes it particularly suitable for projects such as remote monitoring, time-lapse photography, industrial automation, and more.
Download Mode
1. Use ESP32-Downloaderto download by connecting through the reserved 2 1x3 female headers. 2. When using the Grove2 USB-Cprovided in the product packaging for downloading, Before the electricity, short-circuit the G0 and GND pins of the female header using the supplied male-to-male jumper wire to enter download mode. Then, you can connect with Grove2 USB-C for downloading.
