The Atomic PoE Base is designed specifically for the ATOM series main controller, featuring an integrated Ethernet (PoE) module. This allows it to draw power directly from a PoE hub or switch, negating the need for an independent power supply and thereby simplifying the setup and reducing infrastructure expenses.

At its core, the Atomic PoE Base is equipped with the W5500 Ethernet controller that includes an embedded TCP/IP protocol stack. This controller is capable of maintaining eight separate hardware sockets, enabling it to communicate with multiple devices or services simultaneously. The support for 10/100M Ethernet through the Ethernet data link layer (MAC) and physical layer (PHY) provides both reliable and rapid network connectivity.
